GRAND OCEAN is an 85-metre steel displacement yacht built by the Hamburg shipyard Blohm + Voss in 1990 and comprehensively refitted in 2019, registered in Bermuda. Her exterior is by Platou Architects and her interiors by the late Alberto Pinto, whose work across private aviation, palaces, and superyachts established one of the most recognisable luxury vocabularies of the late twentieth century. At this length and with this provenance, she occupies a category of classic superyacht that the modern production market cannot replicate.

GRAND OCEAN accommodates twenty-four guests across fourteen cabins, served by a crew of twenty-two — a staffing ratio that is among the most generous in the charter fleet at any size. Her itinerary scope is similarly exceptional: she charters across the full Mediterranean circuit, Norway and Finland, and the Gulf, with a range of 9,100 nautical miles that makes those transitions practicable. She suits large family groups, corporate charters, or private events where scale, range, and a high crew count are primary requirements. Smaller parties of four to eight guests seeking intimacy would be better served by a vessel a third her size.

Blohm + Voss built to naval and commercial standards that most private shipyards did not approach, and the 2019 refit has brought her systems current. At 85 metres and displacement construction, she is not a fast yacht — 14 knots cruise, 18 maximum — but speed is irrelevant to her intended use. Her hull form gives her sea-keeping characteristics across Northern European swells and Mediterranean chop that shorter, lighter vessels cannot match, and her 9,100-nautical-mile range enables genuine ocean passages.

The onboard amenities list reads more like a private members' club than a charter yacht: full gym, sauna, steam room, beauty room, swimming pool, deck jacuzzi, and an elevator. Watersports extend to three jet skis, two Seabobs, a Jetsurf, and a foilboard. The 2019 refit has ensured these facilities function to a current standard throughout.
